Pham has a cataract which causes constant accidents during cooking or walking. As a result of the cataract, Pham once fell from a narrow path into the rice field. He damaged his spleen and needed surgery. Because his wife has passed away, he has to stay with his children. But that can be a burden for them.
A 15-minute cataract operation is a simple solution. After that Pham can work and live on his own again. The neighbors are already building a hut for him.
