Annual donor journey

Each year, Eye Care Foundation organises a donor trip that offers supporters a unique opportunity to see firsthand the impact of their contributions. During this special journey, you will visit our projects, meet our colleagues on the ground, and witness how much difference a cataract operation or a pair of glasses can make in someone’s life.

In 2026, the donor trip will travel to Vietnam and Cambodia. In addition to visiting our projects, you will experience the hospitality and rich culture of these countries. It promises to be an unforgettable journey.

Donor journey 2026

You are warmly invited to join our new 20-day donor trip to Southern Vietnam and Cambodia, taking place from Monday, 16 November to Saturday, 5 December. During this special journey, you will have the unique opportunity to see firsthand the impact of your support and visit the projects you contribute to.

The trip begins in Ho Chi Minh City, where we will meet our Vietnamese colleagues from Eye Care Foundation. In Vinh Long, we will attend an Eye Care Festival at local schools and visit an eye clinic. We will then travel overland to Cambodia. Here, visits to eye clinics in Svay Rieng and Kampong Cham are on the programme, as well as a stay in Phnom Penh a city rich in history and remarkable landmarks.

We will conclude this diverse and inspiring donor trip in Siem Reap, where you will have ample time to explore the world-famous temples of Angkor Wat.

Previous donor trips

In 2024 and 2025, donors travelled with us to Nepal. We visited eye clinics in Pokhara, Gorkha, and Baglung. Clinics that Eye Care Foundation has built or supports. It was truly impactful to see up close how a simple cataract operation can transform someone’s life.

The donor journey is accompanied by a staff member of Eye Care Foundation.
We select accommodations that combine simplicity and comfort with a convenient location.
Participants cover all travel costs themselves.
