World Sight Day around the world

World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. The Eye Care Foundation organized special World Sight Day activities in all its project countries. World Sight Day is almost here

World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. World Sight Day 2018 will take place on October 11th 2018. The theme of WSD 2018 is Eye Care Everywhere. The Eye Care Foundation will have special World Sight Day activities in all its project countries. Dezila dares to dream again!

Dezila was unable to look after her family. She has a young daughter and would love to have another child. She was no longer able to work their small plot of land where they grow maize. Everything fell to her husband Charles. But he also had to catch and sell fish every day.When the eye team arrived in Dezila`s remote village, they saw how the family lives. They have a small hut. There is a small room where they sleep and a living room of sorts that contains a few buckets, baskets and pans and nothing else.
