First worldwide combination camp

Last week, the Eye Care Foundation in Tanzania conducted the first worldwide eye screening + vaccination combination camp. In partnership with the Ministry of Health, our team was allowed to co-host the event in the remote area of Mngeta, Morogoro. The vaccination rate in Tanzania is extremely low, just under 1%. This combination camp was a safe, cost and time-efficient solution to attend to the basic health needs of the Morogoro Community in times of the pandemic.

2030 in Sight!

193 countries of the United Nations unanimously agreed to a new plan for vision for everyone – with eye health critical to the #SDGs. The plan sets a target for eye care for all by 2030, with countries set to ensure full access to eye care services for their populations, and, to support global efforts to make eye care part of their nation’s journey to achieving the #SustainableDevelopmentGoals. World Sight Day is almost here

World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. World Sight Day 2018 will take place on October 11th 2018. The theme of WSD 2018 is Eye Care Everywhere. The Eye Care Foundation will have special World Sight Day activities in all its project countries.
