Join the Eye Care Foundation team at the Dam tot Dam Run 2026

The Dam tot Dam Run is one of the most popular and vibrant running events in the Netherlands. On Sunday, 20 September 2026, you can take part and run to help restore sight to vulnerable people in remote areas of Nepal. With every step you take, you help make eye care accessible to those in need and contribute to preventing and treating avoidable blindness and visual impairment.

Run and make a difference

When you sign up with Eye Care Foundation, you become part of an enthusiastic team of runners with one shared goal: working together towards better vision. During registration, a personal fundraising page is automatically created, allowing you to start raising funds right away. Then your journey begins: training, organising fundraising activities and working together towards the finish line in Zaandam.

We support you along the way with tips and sample messages to help you collect donations, as well as inspiring updates about your participation.

Sponsorship and conditions

We vragen iedere deelnemer om minimaal € 175,- aan sponsorgeld op te halen via zijn eigen actiepagina. Hiervan is € 68,- bestemd voor je ticket, en de rest gaat rechtstreeks naar de projecten in Nepal. Samen met onze partners daar hopen we natuurlijk dat je dit bedrag bij elkaar hebt vóórdat je aan de start verschijnt, zo maken we met elkaar meteen al impact!

Lukt het je onverhoopt toch niet om deel te nemen, maar heb je al sponsorgeld opgehaald?
Dan kunnen we dit bedrag helaas niet terugstorten. Met jouw bijdrage dekken we namelijk je ticketkosten en steun je alsnog de projecten in Nepal. Zo draag je, ook als je niet kunt starten, toch bij aan betere oogzorg voor de mensen die het hard nodig hebben.

Build Chandannath Eye Hospital in Karnali

In Karnali, high in the Himalayas, access to eye care is far from guaranteed. Residents sometimes have to walk for days to reach a mobile eye camp that only takes place once a month.

The construction of Chandannath Eye Hospital will mean:

Daily access to eye examinations
Faster detection and treatment of eye conditions, such as cataracts
Reduced travel distance and lower costs for patients
Sustainable, long-term eye care close to home

For the people of Karnali, this is a major step forward from occasional aid to lasting care.

Expansion of Dhaulagiri Eye Hospital in Baglung

At Dhaulagiri Eye Hospital, the demand for eye care is high, but space is limited. The outdoor waiting area is currently too small, and the optical department is also overcrowded.

With the expansion of Dhaulagiri Eye Hospital, we can:

Expand the waiting area with improved comfort
Enlarge the optical department
Improve access to eye care

A relatively small expansion can make a world of difference: better patient flow, more treatments, and ultimately more people regaining their sight.

What a day! On 21 September 2025, 89 enthusiastic participants joined the Eye Care Foundation team. Thanks to their efforts—and the incredible support from sponsors, companies, and main sponsor Tramedico B.V.—an impressive €43,018 was raised.

With these funds, we were able to help even more people towards a future with better vision
